Students Left to Fork Out Fees for Online Lessons

Ógra Shinn Fein calls on the government to reduce Third Level fees.

Due to Covid-19 colleges across the island are teaching classes remotely or partial remotely. As students will not be learning in the usual classroom setting and will be unable to access the facilities that are provided by colleges, the reduction in fees needs to happen.

Remote learning will be difficult for many students as certain students will be unable to study online, and some won’t have access to the proper equipment such as laptops, WIFI to do this. Students and families are struggling, and the government should begin to reduce fees immediately to give students a break.

Ógra Shinn Fein states there should be the complete removal of fees on the island, as Ireland are already paying the highest fees in Europe. Education such be available for all to raise up working families and build our country. Education should not be an Ivory tower for only the rich to partake in!
