Ó Ruairc selected for Fingal County Council
Ógra Shinn Féin An Coiste Náisiúnta Óige member Aaron Ó Ruairc has been selected to replace newly elected Sinn Féin TD Paul Donnelly on Fingal County Council.
On being selected, Councillor Ó Ruairc commented:
“I’m delighted to have been selected by my colleagues in Sinn Féin to be co-opted on to Fingal County Council to take the seat formely held by Deputy Paul Donnelly.
“Paul has done some fantastic work over the past number of years as a councillor and I hope to continue this work alongside Councillors Natalie Treacy, Ann Graves and Breda Hanaphy.
“It’s a great honour for me to not only be a Sinn Féin Councillor but an Ógra Shinn Féin member. I promise that I will be a voice for my generation in the council chambers.
“People quite clearly voted for change in the recent election. Our message of giving workers and families a break, cutting rents and freezing them, reducing the pension age and building more homes clearly resonated with people.
“I will be bringing my style of republican politics to this role while also working hard for the people of Ongar and the wider Dublin West Community.”
We wish Councillor Ó Ruairc the best of luck with his new position on Fingal Council, and if his work with Ógra Shinn Féin is anything to go by, he will be a top class representative for the people of Ongar, and West Dublin.
